...Spring is here!

Bloodroot blooming in a maple-basswood forest

Sharp-lobed hepatica blooming amongst a clump of Equisetum

We have enjoyed weeks of spring time temperatures in the Twin Cities and the flora have responded accordinly. Last weekend I was out on the river bluffs in Eden Prairie and found wild ginger (Asarum canadense), hepatica (Hepatica acutiloba), bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis), and prairie smoke (Guem triflorum) just beginning to bloom. Have you photographed any spring flora? Send me an email and I'll post it with your comments.
